14th IAHR Symposium on Ice, Preliminary Announcement
You are cordially invited to participate in the 14th IAHR International
Symposium on Ice will be held on the campus of Clarkson University,
Potsdam, New York, USA. This will be the third IAHR Ice Symposium held in
the USA after Hanover, NH (1975) and Iowa City, IA (1986). The 14th
Symposium will provide a unique opportunity for North American
and International colleagues to exchange experiences and challenges in ice
research.
Topics to be included in the symposium are:
* River, lake, and sea ice processes
* Hydrological influences on river and lake ice
* Ice mechanics and ice forces on structures
* Ice management in hydropower operations
* Ice forecasting for navigation and offshore acitvities
* Environmental and ecological problems in cold regions
Schedule and Deadlines:
Abstract submission: October 15, 1997
Preliminary acceptance: December 31, 1997
Final manuscript: March 15, 1998
