The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) will hold a
Glaciology Virtual Poster Session on Thursday, 28 July 2011 at 6:00 p.m.
GMT. The one-hour session will feature presentations from:

-Martin Sharp, Professor and Chair of the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
Department at University of Alberta and Chair of the International
Arctic Science Committee (IASC) Cryosphere Working Group, will give a
short talk entitled "Glacier Contributions to Changing Sea-Level: Arctic
Canada Awakes."

-Helen Fricker, Associate Professor at the Scripps Institution of
Oceanography, will also talk about an aspect of Antarctic Glaciology.
(Note: this presentation is to be confirmed)

In addition to these keynote presentations, there will be short poster
introductions from a number of APECS members including:

-Fiona Seifert, Portland State University, whose presentation is
entitled "Origin of Surface Undulations at the Kamb Ice Stream Grounding
Line, West Antarctica."

-Oliver Marsh, University of Canterbury, whose presentation is entitled
"Mass Balance in the Grounding Zone of the Beardmore Glacier,
Antarctica, Based on Satellite and Ground Based Remote Sensing
Measurements."

TO ATTEND THE SESSION
Adobe Connect Pro software will be used to conduct the session. The
software requires that Abode Flash Player be installed on participants'
computers. If your computer does not already have Adobe Flash, please
install it at: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.

as a guest by typing in a name (first name, last name, and institution
