The University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) invites
anyone interested in polar research and research vessels to contribute
to the newest project in the UNOLS office.
In December 2010, at the request of the National Science Foundation
(NSF), the UNOLS office established a new committee, the Polar Research
Vessel (PRV) Committee. The committee's primary tasking is to review and
refresh the science mission requirements which were completed in 2006.

To ensure broad community input, UNOLS has established an electronic
survey, and a workshop is scheduled for 28 February - 1 March 2011 in
Arlington, Virginia. The survey and workshop registration are available
at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/prv_survey_registration.
UNOLS requests that the survey be completed by Friday, 28 January 2011,
and that anyone interested in attending the workshop register as soon as
possible. Attendance may be limited, however constructive comments and
answers to the questionnaire are welcome regardless of workshop
attendance.
