Organizers of the 2011 Alaska Weather Symposium announce a call for
abstracts. The symposium will be convened 15-16 March 2011 at the
University of Alaska Fairbanks in Fairbanks, Alaska.

The symposium provides a forum for the exchange of operational and
research information related to weather in the Alaska environment.
Participation from academic, research, government, military, and private
sectors is encouraged. Snacks will be provided and evening meals will be
on-your-own, with an organized evening out (self-pay) at a local
establishment.

All abstracts relating to weather in Alaska are welcome. The primary
areas of focus for the 2011 symposium are anticipated as follows:

- Air quality;
- Data assimilation;
- Models and evaluation for arctic systems;
- Boundary layer processes; and
- Communication of predictability and uncertainty.

The deadline for one-paragraph abstracts for a 20-minute presentation is
Tuesday, 25 January 2011. The abstract submission and registration form

Registration is required by Tuesday, 8 March 2011. There is no
registration fee. Registration must be completed online by submitting

Organizers of the Sharing Cultures 2011 conference announce a call for
abstracts. The conference will be convened 3-6 July 2011 in Tomar,
Portugal.

Sharing Cultures 2011 follows the path established by the previous
Conference on Intangible Heritage (Sharing Cultures 2009) and aims at
continuing and advancing the discussion on Intangible Cultural Heritage
(ICH). Organizers welcome papers on the following topics:

- Oral traditions and expressions;
- Performing arts;
- Social practices; and
- Traditional craftsmanship.

the conference. Abstracts are limited to 300 words, and must be

Organizers of the 13th Arctic Ungulate Conference (AUC) announce a call
for abstracts. The conference will be held 22-26 August 2011 at The
Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.

The Arctic Ungulate Conference is held every four years. The theme of
the 2011 conference is "Challenges of Managing Northern Ungulates" and
will address the difficulties of managing ungulate populations that are
faced with the unpredictable effects of climate change and an
ever-increasing human presence on the land. The conference will also
focus on the challenges associated with developing recovery actions for
declining caribou and reindeer populations that are an integral part of
Aboriginal cultures and ways of life.

Abstracts for the conference can be submitted online through 15 May
2011. Abstracts will be limited to 300 words. The AUC Working Group will
notify authors if their abstract has been accepted as a poster or oral
presentation by 30 June 2011. Further information on abstract

Online registration for the 13th AUC will open Monday, 28 February 2011.
A discounted early registration fee will be available through 1 July
