    Reader in Remote Sensing

Northumbria University seeks applicants to a faculty position for a
Reader in Remote Sensing. The position will be based in Newcastle upon
Tyne, United Kingdom.

Applicants who can demonstrate research experience and leadership in an
aspect of remote sensing that provides synergy with one or more of the
univeristy's current research interests in glaciers and ice sheets, snow
hydrology, ecology, geo-hazards, and river/landscape evolution are
welcome. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to
research and doctoral supervision as well as specialist teaching in an
appropriate branch of the subject area. Previous engagement with
consultancy or commercial outreach at the cutting edge of your subject
would also be advantageous.

Prospective candidates must be able to demonstrate academic and/or
professional credibility; research capability; have a proven commitment
to innovative external engagement; and be likely to be part of the
school's Research Excellence Framework submission, to help build the
school's national and international profile. Applicants with research
interests in cryospheric processes and cold environments are especially
welcome.

Northumbria University seeks applicants for a Senior Lecturer in
Environmental Health or Environmental Science. The position will be
based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

The successful applicant will be required to teach, lead, develop, and
coordinate modules across the subject area; contribute to research and
consultancy activity; and undertake academic administrative duties.
Candidates should have credible academic qualifications, professional
standing, and excellent communication skills. Experience in teaching and
assessment is preferable. This post would particularly suit a candidate
with a strong geochemical background.
