The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) announces the release of its
regular 2011 Request for Proposals (RFP). The full RFP is available by

http://www.nprb.org/proposals/current_rfp.html.

Funds are available for a total of $3.55 million USD. Please consult the
2011 RFP and the NPRB Science Plan for further details on this year's
research priorities.

Proposals must be submitted online in accordance with instructions in
the RFP. Online submission will be available from early November 2010 to
10 December 2010. The deadline for proposal submission is 4 p.m. AKST
Friday, 10 December 2010.

The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) was created by Congress in 1997
to recommend marine research activities to the Secretary of Commerce,
funded through a competitive grant program using part of the interest
earned from the Environmental Improvement and Restoration Fund. These
funds must be used to conduct research activities on, or relating to,
the fisheries or marine ecosystems in the North Pacific Ocean, Bering
Sea, and Arctic Ocean (including any lesser related bodies of water).
NPRB must strive to avoid duplicating other research activities and must
place priority on research designed to address pressing fishery
management or marine ecosystem information needs. The Board's longterm
vision is to build a clear understanding of the marine ecosystems off
Alaska that enables effective management and sustainable use of marine
resources.

Submission deadline: 4 p.m. AKST Friday, 10 December 2010.
