  1. Registration Open
    Arctic Science Summit Week 2010
    Nuuk, Greenland
    15-18 April 2010

Organizers announce that registration is now open for Arctic Science
Summit Week (ASSW) 2010. The registration deadline is 1 March 2010. The
ASSW 2010 will be convened in Nuuk, Greeland from 15-18 April.

The summit of influential organizations engaged in arctic and polar
research and planning is to provide opportunities for international
coordination, collaboration, and cooperation in all areas of arctic
science and to combine science and management meetings. The ASSW also
offers insight into arctic research undertaken by the host country. The
ASSW is a collaborative effort between the International Arctic Sciences
Committee (IASC), the Arctic Ocean Sciences Board (AOSB), the European
Polar Board (EPB), the Pacific Arctic Group (PAG), and the Forum of
Arctic Research Operators (FARO).

Registration Deadline: Monday, 1 March 2010

  1. Session Announcement and Call for Abstracts
OS08: Recent Advances in Biogeochemical Studies of the Arctic Ocean
American Geophysical Union Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting
    22-25 June 2010
    Taipei, Taiwan

Organizers of Session for OS08: "Recent Advances in Biogeochemical
Studies of the Arctic Ocean" announce a call for abstracts. This session
will be convened at the 2010 Western Pacific Geophysics Meeting,
scheduled for 22-25 June 2010 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Recent amplified warming and ice-melting has had a profound impact on
the ecosystems in the arctic regions. However, the biogeochemical and
ecological responses to the warming remain poorly understood. This
session will bring scientists and students to exchange research results
and multidisciplinary discoveries in biogeochemistry, modeling, and
carbon cycling in the Arctic Ocean. Abstracts dealing with
biogeochemical processes, cycling, and fluxes of carbon, nutrients, and
trace elements across the air-sea, biota-water, ice-water,
sediment-water, and land-ocean interfaces using both observational and
modeling approaches are welcome.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Thursday, 25 February 2010
