The abstract submission deadline for the 2010 International Geoscience
and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) has been extended. The new
deadline is Friday, 18 December 2009. The conference will be convened
25-30 July 2010 in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The IGARSS 2010 theme is "Remote Sensing: Global Vision for Local
Action" and the agenda is expected to include technical sessions,
tutorials, exhibits, and social activities. A list of technical program
topics is available at:

Participation in IGARSS 2010 is open to all individuals interested in or
working in the fields of geoscience and remote sensing.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) IGARSS 2010
Technical Program Committee will organize all accepted abstracts into
either oral or interactive poster sessions based upon their potential
contribution to the symposium and the composition of high-quality

  1. Reminder: Call for Papers
    17th Inuit Studies Conference
    4-6 November 2010
    Val d'Or, Quebec, Canada

The University of Quebec in Abitibi-Temiscamingue (UQAT) and DIALOG
(research and knowledge network relating to Aboriginal peoples) will
host the 17th Inuit Studies Conference from 4-6 November 2010. The event
will be held at the UQAT First Peoples Pavilion on the Val-d'Or campus,
Quebec, Canada, under the theme "The Inuit and the Aboriginal World."

The intention of this theme is to explore the common concerns of the
Inuit and the other Aboriginal peoples throughout the world. Organizers
propose the following sub-themes:

  • The environment;
  • Climate change;
  • Economic development; and
  • Issues connected to languages, cultures, and education.

Proposals for papers must be sent to conference coordinators by email or
postal mail no later than Friday, 22 January 2010. Proposals can be
presented in French or in English. A scientific committee will select
the papers to be presented at the conference. The selections will be
made public in March 2010.
