The Institute of Arctic Research (INSTAAR) announces the 17th Arctic
Conference, to be held 13-14 November 2009, at INSTAAR in Boulder,
Colorado. The Arctic Conference is an informal symposium of
archaeologists, anthropologists, ecologists, and geologists who gather
once a year to share data and new findings and plan collaborative
research activities.
This year's conference will feature a poster session and facility tours,
including INSTAAR's AMS 14C radiocarbon preparation laboratory, invited
speakers, and a keynote address. Student participants are encouraged to
present findings from their thesis and dissertation research. To learn

Presented papers will be 20 minutes in length; no papers sessions are
scheduled concurrently (i.e., participants have the option of attending
all papers). Abstracts should be 300 words or less and may include one
figure and references. The deadline for abstract submission is 30
September 2009.
