The U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL)
seeks a Research Physicist to conduct independent snow physics research
in the cutting-edge snow modeling program. The Research Physicist will
apply expertise in theoretical and modeling aspects of temperature
gradient and grain-boundary diffusion driven snow metamorphism from a
micro-structural grain-scale perspective.

Applicants must have expertise in numerical modeling and methods related
to phase change and moving interface problems. Specialized experience in
computer topographic techniques for obtaining digital representations of
snow microstructure, including construction of graphical interfaces for
data and model display and analysis, are essential. The Research
Physicist is responsible for securing funds, conducting independent
research and publishing results in scientific literature. A PhD is
preferred. U.S. citizenship is required.

CRREL is part of the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center,
one of the most diverse engineering and scientific research organizations
in the world. CRREL is located in a rural scenic setting adjacent to
Dartmouth College, in a four-season recreational area. On-site child
care and fitness facilities are available. CRREL is an Equal Employment
Opportunity Employer.
