Along with the regular December 2008 issue, Journal of the Arctic
Institute of North America (AINA) members will receive a special
supplementary issue entitled "Arctic Change and Coastal Communities."
The issue includes peer-reviewed, revised versions of nine papers
presented at the Coastal Zone Canada Conference held in Tuktoyaktuk,
Northwest Territories, in August 2006. In addition, it contains a
conference overview, a keynote address, a forum report, and a statement
prepared by the Coastal Zone Canada Association on behalf of the
conference participants. The hard work of guest editor David Rosenberg
in preparing the conference papers for submission greatly facilitated
publication of this issue. Single copies of the supplementary issue are
available from the Arctic Institute of North America for $25.00, plus
shipping and handling.

A non-profit membership organization and multidisciplinary research
institute of the University of Calgary, AINA's mandate is to advance the
study of the North American and circumpolar Arctic through the natural
and social sciences, as well as the arts and humanities, and to acquire,
preserve, and disseminate information on physical, environmental, and
social conditions in the North. Created as a bi-national corporation in
1945, the Institute's United States Corporation is housed at the
University of Alaska Fairbanks. For information on becoming an AINA
member and receiving the journal, please visit the Institute's website
at: http://www.arctic.ucalgary.ca/.
