CH2M HILL Polar Services (CPS) will work with the Barrow Arctic Science
Consortium (BASC) to provide logistics support to NSF-funded researchers
working in Barrow.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) recognizes the importance of
Barrow as a location for NSF-funded scientists and their international
collaborators and will continue to support research in the region. The
NSF has tasked its arctic logistics contractor, CPS, to work with BASC
in supporting NSF-funded researchers working out of Barrow, Alaska. CPS
and BASC are working together to develop a streamlined science support
process. BASC will provide operational logistical support on the ground,
as before.

Dr. Steve Hastings, who has functioned as the BASC Senior Scientist, has
joined the CPS team and his role in Barrow science planning will not
change. Dr. Hastings, working closely with BASC, will continue as the
point of contact for scoping level of effort and costs for logistical
support for the research community.
