The Danish Climate Centre (DKC) seeks a post doctoral candidate to join
the research team. As part of the DKC team the successful applicant will
work on utilizing and refining climate models, implementing ensemble
simulations, and/or undertaking research on methods for assessing
probabilistic climate change from multi-model ensembles. One focus of
the research will be to develop a coupled model system for the Greenland
Ice Sheet, the atmosphere, and the surrounding seas. The application
deadline is Monday, 15 December 2008.

Candidates should have some experience running a Global Climate Model
(GCM), Regional Climate Model (RCM), or advanced ice sheet model, be
literate in UNIX/Linux operating systems, and have a working knowledge of
C, C++ and/or FORTRAN. Within the many projects that the group is
involved in, the successful candidate will have the chance to develop
his/her own specific foci, while supporting the broader project
objectives.

The DKC is a leading climate research group in northern Europe, active in
applied modeling activities in climate change, seasonal forecasting, and
climate system processes. The group has a strong emphasis on
multi-disciplinary integration and is seeking further engagement with
stakeholders in the cryosphere, water, agriculture, and policy
communities. The DKC is responsible for the provision of plausible
future climate conditions for Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland.
DKC is involved in many international collaborative projects, where
modeling and analysis of the results are central elements. Activities
involve GCM and RCM, as well as ice sheet modeling for the Greenland Ice
Sheet.

The application should include a complete CV and be marked
"041-0045.2008." It should be directed, no later than Monday, 15
December 2008, to:
