The Universities of Oulu, Kuopio, and Lapland, as part of the
International Polar Year (IPY) activities, will host the 6th
International Kastelli Symposium, "Focus on Future Generations," 20-21
November 2008, in Oulu, Finland. The symposium provides a forum for
interdisciplinary interaction and exchange of knowledge related to
ethical questions in the research of children and elderly people,
environmental and climate change as well as culture, language and
society. Participants representing various fields are warmly welcome.
A pre-conference course, "Climate Change, Global Change, and the Media,"
will be offered 18-19 November at the same location.
