The Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (ATOC) and the
Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) invite applications
for a tenure-track faculty position in atmospheric and ocean science.
The individual should complement University, Department and Institute
strengths in polar, alpine and climate research and enhance
collaboration between ATOC and INSTAAR. Applicants are sought who will
establish a vigorous and innovative research program, and who will
contribute to the departmental teaching program at both the
undergraduate and graduate levels. Research areas of particular interest
are modeling or observational aspects of climate and paleoclimate, polar
oceanography, global biogeochemical cycles, atmospheric boundary layer
processes, or sea ice / ice sheet / ice processes.

This position will be filled at the assistant professor level. A PhD in
atmospheric or oceanic sciences or a related field is required at the
time of appointment and post-doctoral experience is preferred. This is a
9-month tenure-track position, rostered jointly in ATOC and INSTAAR. To
