Two Canadian scientific research groups, IP3 (http://www.usask.ca/ip3)
and WC2N (http://wc2n.unbc.ca) seek candidates to fill the positions of
Data and Information Manager and Outreach Coordinator. The IP3 and WC2N
Networks study the movement and storage of water and snow in western and
northern Canada, as well as the links between climatic change and
glacier fluctuations in western Canada.

Position Descriptions:
Data and Information Manager
The candidate selected for this position will manage, standardize, and
archive hydrological, climatological, and glaciological databases for
both the IP3 and WC2N networks. S/he will write QA/QC code to process
raw observational data, will lead small group training sessions on
hydrological and other models, and will provide information and data
products as requested by our scientists and partners. This position is
full-time and will be located at the University of Saskatchewan. To be
considered for this position, candidates must hold a BS in natural
science, engineering, or other relevant field and have familiarity with
hydrology, glaciology, or climatology.

Outreach Coordinator
The candidate selected for this position will interpret IP3 and WC2N
scientific results into forms that meet users' and partners' needs. S/he
will produce informational materials, books, and public park information
displays, will organize workshops with the cold regions water management
community, and will inform the public and media on climate, cryosphere,
and hydrology issues in the Canadian Rockies and the North through
public meetings and presentations. This position is either par-time or
full-time and requires a BS with training or experience in cold regions
hydrology or climatology and scientific communication. This position
will be located either at the University of Saskatchewan or the
University of Northern British Columbia.

Both positions are for 2 years and will begin in fall 2008.
