The US Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL),
located in Hanover, New Hampshire, seeks applicants for a Polar
Engineer. The successful candidate will apply engineering expertise to
the Nation's problems related to extreme environments, including polar
regions. S/he will assist the National Science Foundation Office of
Polar Programs and interacts with participating scientists, support
contractors, cooperative agreement participants federal / state
agencies, other countries, and other NSF directorates. Duties require
extensive travel to austere locations; a physical is required.
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience.
Preference will be given to applicants with extensive experience working
with other agencies in polar engineering, logistics, engineering and
infrastructure management activities in remote locations under austere
conditions.
