The Centre of Geographical Studies of the University of Lisbon (CEG)
announces the search for four (4) post-doc fellowships in the scientific
domains of Physical Geography and other Earth and Atmosphere Sciences,
Human Geography and other Social Sciences, Planning and Territorial
Management, and Geographical Information Systems. This is a
pre-selection call and the final approval of the fellowships depends on
the evaluation by the FCT. The successful applicants will be integrated
into projects and work programs of previously existing CEG Research
Groups.

The CEG is the largest unit dedicated to geographical research in
Portugal. With more than 90 researchers presently working, the Centre
has developed research that is recognized both nationally and
internationally. For further information about CEG please go to:

The applicants should have a minimum three years postdoctoral experience
and be able to demonstrate the necessary skills and competencies to
integrate the scientific research on ongoing and future research and
development projects within the Research Groups of the CEG. An
international selection committee composed of five (5) PhD experts in
Human and Physical Geography and Geographical Information Systems will
evaluate applicants on the following criteria:
- PhD scientific area and thesis relevance for the research activity to
be developed in the Research Groups of the CEG;
- Academic curriculum;
- Postdoctoral scientific and professional curriculum;
- Quality and pertinence of a personal research proposal presented by
the applicant, as well as, its adequacy to the objectives of and the
integration in the Research Groups of the CEG (max. 5 pages); and
- Personal statement.

Application packets must include the following:
1. A letter stating the applicant's interest, motivation and
qualifications, as well as an explanation of how his/her profile is an
asset for the Research Group;
2. Copies of degree certificates;
3. Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a list of publications;
4. Copy of an identification document (ID card, passport or other);
5. A minimum of two letters of recommendation; and
6. A plan of a personal research project to be developed within the
Research Group of the CEG (max. 5 pages).
Applicants must specify the Research Group to which s/he is applying.

All documents must be submitted in English (certificates and
identification excluded). Please indicate job reference number
