Live Webcast of the SCAR/IASC IPY Conference - Opening Ceremony

The organizers of the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) and
the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) announce the live
webstreaming of the opening ceremony and keynote lectures of the "Polar
Research - Arctic and Antarctic Perspectives in the International Polar
Year Conference." The opening ceremony and keynote lectures are now
available via live webstream at: http://www.arcticportal.org.
The conference is being held 8-11 July 2008, in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The IPY Joint Committee has endorsed this event as the first in a series
of international interdisciplinary IPY conferences. It is cosponsored by
the International Council for Science (ICSU) and the World
Meteorological Organization (WMO). Sessions will take place in the
Pribaltiskaya Hotel and at the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute
(AARI).
