Open registration is now available for the international conference on
ecological responses to arctic climate change, "After the Melt," to be held
5-7 May 2008, at the University of Aarhus, Denmark. The conference will
focus specifically on the rapid and dramatic ecological consequences of
climate change in the Arctic. The conference is organized by the
National Environmental Research Institute at University of Aarhus,
Denmark, in collaboration with the Danish Polar Center.

The International Polar Year 2007-2008 commemorates and highlights
research and exploration in the Arctic. The aim of this conference is to
give an unparalleled opportunity to advance public awareness of and
appreciation for arctic ecology and its inherent vulnerability to
climatic changes. The combined list of invited speakers embraces the
arctic biome, from single species responses over inter-trophic relations
and complex system changes to the processes of carbon cycling and
feedback dynamics to the atmosphere.
