The Journal of Canadian Studies will publish a special issue,"Nunavut
at 10," in spring 2009. This themed issue will address the impact of
Nunavut on the quality of life of the Nunavummiut, language rights,
housing, resource development, arctic sovereignty, and models of
governance, as well as campaigns for indigenous self-government in
Canada and beyond. The editors seek papers from experts in climate
change, culture, art, Canadian foreign policy, and from indigenous
scholars.

Academics and graduate students nearing completion of a PhD are invited
to submit 250-word abstracts for consideration. Abstracts should
address the article topic, methodology employed and key findings. The
editors particularly welcome contributions from aboriginal scholars.
All papers will undergo a formal peer review process.

The deadline for abstract submission is Monday, 31 March 2008.
Completed abstracts and questions should be directed to the guest
editor, Ailsa Henderson, at:
