The Resilience and Adaptation Program (RAP), an Integrative Graduate
Education and Research Training (IGERT) program, at the University of
Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for PhD and masters studies,
starting in autumn of 2008. RAP trains scholars, policy-makers,
community leaders, and managers to address issues of sustainability in
an integrated fashion. The program focuses on global-to-local
interactions, preparing students to address a major global challenge -
sustaining the desirable features of Earth's socio-ecological systems at
a time of rapid change. Students of RAP take their degrees in Biology
and Wildlife, Natural Resource Management, Resource Economics, and
Anthropology.

Two-year fellowships of $30,000 per year with an international travel
stipend are available to US citizens. Applications will be accepted on
a rolling basis, with review beginning in late March 2008.
