The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research (BCCR) / Geophysical Institute
in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a PhD research fellowship in
marine biogeochemistry and modeling.

Applications for the PhD program are invited from candidates with
experience in biological and biogeochemical responses to climate change,
in particular the arctic and subarctic oceans. The project will
investigate the coupling between ocean dynamics, ocean chemistry, and
pelagic marine ecosystems using experimental and observational data and
ocean models. The work will be preformed in close collaboration with the
Norwegian Research Council project Marine Ecosystem Response to a
Changing Climate (MERCLIM) coordinated by the Bjerknes Centre of Climate
Research and the EU FP7 projects European Project on Ocean Acidification
(EPOCA) and Marine Ecosystem Evolution in a Changing Environment
(MEECE).

Applicants must have achieved a Master's degree or equivalent in
oceanography, biology, ecology, mathematics, statistics or related
fields, or have submitted their thesis for assessment by the application
deadline. The research fellow must take part in the university's
approved PhD program leading to the degree within a time limit of three
years. Application for admission to the PhD program, including a project
plan for the training module will be worked out in collaboration with
the research group in question.

Applicants must submit three copies, sorted in three identical bundles,
each with a complete CV, copies of diplomas and transcripts, and
scholarly works, including a list of publications. The applications
