The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) invites
undergraduate students majoring in engineering, science, math, or
geology to apply for Summer 2008 student research positions. The CReSIS
Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program is supported by the
National Science Foundation.

Successful applicants will work on research projects under the
supervision of faculty and graduate students, and will participate in
tutorials and other events. Fields of study include aerospace
engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, computer
engineering, geography, and geology. Students receive a stipend, tuition
for one hour of college research credit, and room and board at the host
institution. Applicants must have completed their freshman year of
college and be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Applicants must submit a resume, transcripts, letter of interest, and a
completed application form. The letter of interest should include why
the applicant wants to participate, current research interests, current
academic and professional goals, previous research / design /
programming projects, and the names and contact information (including
e-mail addresses) of two references. Applications must be postmarked by
Monday, 3 March 2008, and sent to:
