Taco de Bruin, Oystein Godoy, and Mark Parsons will host an informal
townhall meeting on the development of the International Polar Year Data
and Information Service (IPYDIS). The meeting will take place during the
American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2007 Fall Meeting on Wednesday, 12
December 2007, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the San Francisco Marriott
Hotel, Sierra A (5th floor).

Meeting organizers will provide a brief status report on IPYDIS
activity. Jack Hill, Director of the World Data Center for Biodiversity
and Ecosystems, will provide some lessons learned from the data
management efforts of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. The meeting
will then open for questions and broader discussion.

The meeting is open and all are welcome, but interested individuals are
requested to contact Mark Parsons at: parsonsm [at] nsidc.org, if they plan
to attend.
