Papers are invited for Session ED08: "Navigating a Career in the
Geosciences: Strategies for Success" being convened at the American
Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting on 10-14 December 2007 in San
Francisco, California.

Session Description:
What do you know now that you wished you knew then? Contribute your
ideas for increasing productivity, recognition, and impact. How did you
figure out which committees hold real power? How do you deal with
difficult people? How did you handle career set-backs? What would you
recommend to others as they navigate the tenure and promotion process?
What led you to become a Department Head? Dean? Provost? Tell others how
you managed to balance career and family responsibilities. Share tips
from your own experience and learn what researchers who study scientists
have to say. This session will bring together experienced geoscientists
with newcomers.

Please note the AGU First Author Policy, which allows up to two
submitted first-author abstracts, as long as one of them is made to an
Education or Public Affairs session: "An author can have a maximum of 1
contributed and 1 invited abstract, or 2 invited abstracts. The only
exception to this policy is the submission of one additional
contributed, first-authored abstract made to an Education (ED) OR Public
Affairs (PA) session."
