Registration is now open for "Sustainable Northern Shelter in a World of
Diminishing Resources," a forum addressing the challenge of empowering
northern communities to build energy efficient, sustainable, culturally
and geographically appropriate, healthy homes and communities. Sponsored
by the Cold Climate Housing Research Center, University of Alaska
Fairbanks, Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, Canadian Mortgage Housing
Corporation, Northern Forum, and the Fairbanks North Star Borough, the
forum is being held on 28-30 October 2007 in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Speakers and panelists include international leaders in the subjects of
building science, architectural design, and energy systems. The desired
outcome of the forum includes the identification of a research agenda
for the field of northern building and infrastructure design and
technology, development of on-going research partnerships, agreement on
complementary and/or collaborative research topics, and the widespread
dissemination of the information gathered.

To allow for greater international attendance, the forum will be webcast
live and open for both synchronous and asynchronous interaction.
Information about the live webcast will be available on the forum
website.
