The American Physical Society (APS), a scientific membership
organization, seeks a Science Policy Fellow to work at its Office of
Public Affairs in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include crafting and
advocating key science policy issues, developing grass roots activities
for one of the nation's largest scientific societies, and organizing
congressional visits, programs, and letter-writing campaigns. The
successful candidate will represent the Office of Public Affairs at
selected APS national and divisional meetings, APS committee meetings,
and science advocacy coalition meetings. Applicants must have excellent
verbal, writing, and interpersonal skills, and experience on Capitol
Hill is desirable. A science degree is strongly preferred. Salary is
commensurate with experience.
