The Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research in Bergen, Norway invites
applications for a three-year PhD position to begin in Autumn 2007. The
successful applicant will study the development of extreme weather in
the polar region and its implication on air-sea interaction in the
climate system. The study will make use of a simplified coupled system
where a mixed layer model for the ocean and a wave model will be coupled
to an atmospheric component.
Applicants must hold a Masters degree in meteorology, oceanography,
mathematics or physics. Interested applicants in these fields who are
not yet graduated are asked to notify BCCR of their expected graduation
date.
