The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) invites researchers at
UK universities, research institutes, and other recognized organizations
to carry out environmental research at the UK Arctic Research Station at
Ny-Alesund, Svalbard. International collaborators may also be supported
at the station if visiting with a UK team.
The location is particularly suitable for ecological research,
glacial/periglacial geomorphology, hydrology, and atmospheric chemistry.
The station will be open for the summer season from June to September
2007. The station may also open in March or April if required.
Applications for use of the station are being accepted until Saturday,
31 March 2007. Late applications will be given consideration if there is
space available.
