The Department of Meteorology, Stockholm University invites applications
for a postdoctoral position directed at experimental studies of the
arctic boundary layer, in particular processes relevant for formation of
arctic boundary-layer clouds. A main component of the position is the
Arctic Summer Cloud-Ocean Study (ASCOS) field experiment. The successful
candidate will assist in general preparations for the experiment,
prepare for its boundary-layer component, and participate in the field
experiment onboard the Swedish icebreaker Oden during summer 2008. Main
responsibilities include primary analysis of ASCOS data following the
experiment and quality control and organization of project data for the
Developing Arctic Modeling and Observing Capabilities for Long-term
Environmental Studies (DAMOCLES) database. The position may also include
analysis and/or modeling of earlier field experiment data.

Applicants should have a PhD (or similar qualifications) in meteorology
or atmospheric science and preferably have experience in boundary-layer
meteorology. Insight and interest in arctic climate processes are
beneficial. The position starting date may be as soon as practical
following the closing date of the announcement on Monday, 26 March 2007.
