The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) is hosting a workshop on the
Gulf of Alaska Integrated Ecosystem Research Program (GOA IERP) on 27-28
February 2007, in Juneau, Alaska.
The NPRB is preparing a GOA IERP initiative at $7 million USD scheduled
for release in October 2007. In preparation for the GOA IERP, the
workshop is being convened to discuss key science priorities in the
context of management issues identified by the State of Alaska, the
North Pacific Fishery Management Council, and the GOA planning team of
the NPRB. Over 28 speakers have been invited to discuss the anticipated
scientific obstacles in both the physical and biological realms,
including observational and modeling work, in addressing the goals of
the IERP.
The workshop is open to the public, but registration is mandatory due to
