The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) is seeking a highly qualified
individual to fill the full-time, exempt position of Assistant Program
Manager. Based in Anchorage, Alaska, NPRB sponsors research related to
the fisheries and marine ecosystems in the North Pacific Ocean, Bering
Sea, and Arctic Ocean.

The successful candidate will monitor and administer current and new
NPRB research projects; further develop, implement, and monitor
integrated ecosystem research programs; act as liaison with other
entities performing marine research in Alaska; oversee peer review of
proposals; serve on NPRB committees; help prepare annual implementation
plans and requests for proposals; coordinate development and processing
of contracts for research projects; help prepare annual scientific
reports on NPRB programs; and facilitate the transfer of data and
metadata from NPRB-funded projects to the NPRB website.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree in a relevant
scientific field and two years of professional experience or equivalent
in a discipline related to the NPRB mission. Qualified candidates should
have a background in ecological or marine sciences, working knowledge of
Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, as well as a
positive attitude, capacity to multi-task, and superior writing and
communication skills. Experience in research administration, planning,
and coordination is also preferred.
