Papers are invited for the Arctic Energy Technology Conference, which
will be held in Anchorage, Alaska, on 15-18 October 2007. The conference
is one of three components of the Arctic Energy Summit, an event
endorsed by the Arctic Council and IPY. The other components are an
education and outreach program and an arctic energy action team that
will develop practical means to implement energy technology in the
Arctic.

A benchmark of 200-250 papers is expected for the Arctic Energy
Technology Conference. Papers are welcome for, but not limited to, any
of the conference's main themes:
- extractive energy;
- rural power; and
- sustainability of energy in the Arctic.

Abstracts for papers should be between 150 and 200 words, written in
English, and must be submitted by Monday, 15 January 2007, at:
http://www.arcticenergysummit.org

Multiple submissions by individuals or groups of authors are welcome,
though each speaker will be allowed to present only one paper at the
conference. In the event that multiple submissions are accepted,
different coauthors will be expected to each present a single paper.
Selection criteria for abstracts include contribution to energy
technology or rural power issues, relevancy to the Arctic, inclusion of
new and technically sound information that has not been previously
published, and the non-commercial nature of the papers. Authors will be
notified by Thursday, 15 March 2007, if their abstracts have been
accepted.

The Arctic Energy Technology Conference will begin and end with plenary
sessions on energy policy and issues related to remote northern
communities. An industry exhibition featuring current arctic energy
technology will be held during the conference. The Arctic Energy Summit
is sponsored by the Institute of the North in conjunction with
University of the Arctic.
