The Sterling College Center for Northern Studies seeks candidates with
expertise in history, comparative literature, or area studies for a
faculty position in the humanities. Requirements include demonstrated
teaching experience, the ability to engage undergraduates in integrative
research projects related to capstone requirements, and research
activities focused on northern humanities and circumpolar communities.
The successful applicant must be willing to help recruit students for
field-study programs and travel with students to isolated communities in
remote regions. He/she must also have a PhD by the starting date of 15
July 2007.

Review of applications will begin Wednesday, 1 November 2006 and
continue until the position is filled.
