Centre for Earth Observation Science
Departments of Environment and Geography and Soil Science
University of Manitoba

The University of Manitoba Centre for Earth Observation Science and
Departments of Environment and Geography and Soil Science have
opportunities for motivated persons interested in pursuing PhD or Post
Doctoral positions. The positions focus on carbon dynamics within
marine, estuarine, and tundra environments of the Canadian Arctic and
sub Arctic coastal zone.

Positions are currently available in the following areas: terrestrial
carbon ecosystem modeling (soil-vegetation-atmosphere), net ecosystem
exchange studies over polar marine environments, and elemental cycling
process modeling under climate change scenarios.

Candidates with experience in eddy correlation systems, field
instrumentation, working in remote locations, and data processing are
particularly encouraged to contact Dr. Tim Papakyriakou (see below).
This research will be conducted under the umbrella of ArcticNet
(http://www.arcticnet-ulaval.ca).
