The US Arctic Research Commission will hold its 81st meeting at the
Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, on
10-11 October 2006 beginning at 8:30 a.m. In addition to standard
Commission business, the meeting will feature several brief scientific
research presentations by representatives from academia, government,
military, and other entities with demonstrated expertise in the Arctic.
The Commission is in the process of developing its biennial "Report on
Goals and Objectives for Arctic Research 2007", which will be delivered
to the President and Congress in February 2007. The contents of this
report, which guides the nation's arctic policy for the next two years,
will be discussed at this meeting.
