The University of Swansea wishes to appoint a Chair and a Reader, Senior
Lecturer, or Lecturer in Earth systems science or numerical climate
modelling (2 Posts) in the School of the Environment and Society.

These posts will contribute to the school's mission of delivering
world-class research and excellent postgraduate and undergraduate
teaching. The appointments also form part of a new initiative across the
university concerned with the analysis, modelling, and applications of
partial differential equations (PDEs), in collaboration with the School
of Physical Sciences and the School of Engineering.

Applications are sought from dynamic and ambitious individuals with
active research interests in Earth systems science and/or numerical
climate modelling who can complement and enhance the school's existing
research strengths in these areas. These research strengths are focused
on various elements of past and present climate/environmental change,
satellite remote sensing of the land surface and the atmosphere (Earth
observation), glaciology, numerical modelling of environmental systems,
and aspects of environmental sustainability. The successful applicants
will have an excellent international reputation for the originality,
significance, rigour, and impact of their research, including an
outstanding track-record of academic publications, of attracting
external funding for research and, in the case of the Chair, of research
leadership.
