Dear Colleague,

ARCUS is pleased to announce the publication of "Arctic Forum 2005," the
proceedings from the Arctic Forum held in Washington, D.C. on 19-20 May
2005. The theme for the 2005 Forum was "Arctic Climate Change and Public
Literacy: What's at Stake?" The Arctic Forum is sponsored by ARCUS, with
partial funding from the National Science Foundation, and is held in
conjunction with the ARCUS Annual Meeting each year.

The Forum gathers together members of the arctic research community, key
agency personnel, policy makers, educators, and students in one of few
interdisciplinary meetings focused on the Arctic. The Forum includes
paper and poster sessions on cutting-edge arctic research, policy
issues, and education. ARCUS began hosting the Arctic Forum in 1994;
abstracts were first published in 1998 and will continue to be published
annually.

The 2006 Arctic Forum will be held 25-26 May at the National Association
of Home Builders conference facility located at 1201 15th Street NW,
Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the 18th ARCUS Annual Meeting. The
theme of this year's meeting is "International Arctic Research at a
Turning Point: Innovations and Collaborations for the Future" and it
will be co-chaired by Craig Tweedie of the University of Texas at El
Paso and Volker Rachold of the International Arctic Science Committee.
Information about the Annual Meeting and the Arctic Forum, including
online registration and abstract submission, is available on the ARCUS
