There are two tenure-track job openings in the Department of Geography
at the University of California, Los Angeles:

Physical Geography Position
The Department of Geography invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the rank of assistant professor beginning 1 July 2006. The
successful candidate will work in the broad area of physical geography
with demonstrated application of their research to questions of global
environmental change. Excellence in research and teaching and the
ability to procure extramural research funding are required.

Geographic Information Systems Position
The Department of Geography invites applications for a tenure-track
position at the rank of assistant professor beginning 1 July 2006.
Candidates may work in any substantive area of Geography, but must
possess strong technical skills in Geographic Information Systems. The
successful candidate will play an integral role in further developing
the GIS program including the implementation of a certificate program in
Geographic Information Systems and Technologies (GIST). Demonstrated
excellence in research and teaching, and a strong commitment to
procuring extramural research funding are required.

UCLA's Department of Geography is among the top ranked geography
departments in the nation and offers a multi-faceted faculty from a
variety of sub fields, including GIST and a core group working on
environmental change using a diverse set of technical approaches.
