M.Sc. Programme in Environmental Physics

This international study programme focuses on atmospheric physics and
chemistry, physics of oceanography, and on soil physics. The programme
offers lectures, exercises, and lab classes. During the whole second
year, the students are to prepare a research orientated thesis work.
Students will gain scientific knowledge and will have the opportunity to
learn different experimental methods in the field as well as in the
laboratory. In addition, there might be the possibility to attend
special excursions like e.g. on the research vessel "Polarstern."
The duration of the programme is four semesters. After these two years,
students can obtain a M.Sc. degree. A certificate can be obtained after
one year. For excellent students with a M.Sc. Degree in Physics there
might be the opportunity to participate in a Ph.D. programme after the
first year.
All courses are held in English. Applications are still being accepted
for students who wish to start in October 2005.
