Dear Colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to this special session at the 2005
AGU Fall Meeting:

OS 08: Carbon Cycle in the Arctic Ocean with an Emphasis on Budget and
Fluxes Across Interfaces

Session Description:
The Arctic Ocean and its surrounding terrestrial regions are sensitive
to ongoing climate and environmental change. Arctic carbon cycle and
biogeochemical processes are closely linked to these changes. However,
carbon budgets in the Arctic Ocean and fluxes across major interfaces
and reservoirs remain poorly quantified. It is important to identify
uncertainties and further research needs in the arctic carbon cycle
including organic carbon/inorganic carbon/CO2/CH4.

Abstracts related to arctic carbon cycle and biogeochemical processes
are invited. Emphasis will be placed on carbon budgets and fluxes across
the land/ocean, atmosphere/ice/seawater, sediment/water and
atmosphere/soil interfaces. Papers related to observational studies or
modeling and molecular level or basin scale approaches are welcome.
