In preparation for a workshop in Boulder, Colorado, 20-22 July 2005,
that aims to facilitate the coordination of outreach and education
efforts for the upcoming International Polar Year 2007-2008 (IPY), the
Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences at the
University of Colorado has developed a simple online survey designed for
Earth science teachers to find out whether or not they focus on polar
regions and what misconceptions students might have about the
similarities and differences of the Arctic and Antarctic.

In addition to completing the survey, the CIRES group would appreciate
it if you could forward the survey link to any teachers who might be
willing to share their insights and experience and/or who might be
interested in IPY.

The survey is available online at:
http://cybele.colorado.edu/surveys/ipy.htm

Responses to this survey will inform IPY education and outreach about
how/if at all polar science is currently being incorporated into Earth
science curricula.
