The Ecologic Institute (http://ecologic.eu/arctic) announces a call for
applications for the Arctic Summer College 2012. The course will be
convened from 9 July to 7 September 2012 via weekly online webinars held
Mondays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Central European Time.

Weekly discussions will be led by expert speakers from key arctic
institutions. Discussion topics will focus on conservation, diplomacy
and governance, energy and resources, fisheries, transport, and the
human dimension in the face of rapid change.

The College intends to build a network of emerging arctic leaders from
research, policy, and industry. The network will grow each year into an
Arctic College Community, and strengthen communication between peoples
and nations, scientific disciplines, policy areas, and across the
science-policy interface. Participants from each year will be encouraged
to continue relationships with each other, as well with participants
from subsequent (and earlier) years. Indigenous people will form a core
contingent of the network. The target audience for the results of course
discussions is decision makers in arctic and non-arctic countries.

Application deadline: Wednesday, 30 May 2012.

Further information about the course can be found at:
http://arcticsummercollege.org/. Additional details, including
application instructions, are available on the application form which
can be downloaded at the website.
