The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) invite submissions of potential
research topics to be included in the 2018 NPRB Request for Proposals
(RFP). NPRB staff are currently developing research priorities to be
reviewed by the board this fall.

NPRB draws on research needs outlined in the 2005 Science Plan;
assessments of completed, ongoing, and planned projects; new information
presented in scientific conferences; and new findings published in
scientific literature. NPRB also directly solicits research priorities
from state and federal agencies, research institutions, and industry
partners to jointly identify time-sensitive science, management, and
monitoring needs and opportunities.

Proposals undergo four stages of review including independent peer
review and the NPRB Science and Advisory Panels. The Board determines
final funding recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce based on
these reviews.

Submission deadline: 10 July 2017.
