Organizers announce the that the 5th Polar Prediction Workshop will convene 7-9 May 2018 at the Agora Hydro-Quebec in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Meeting organizers include:

  • Bruno Tremblay, McGill University;
  • Amelie Bouchat, McGill University;
  • Charles Brunette, McGill University;
  • Julianne Yip, McGill University; and
  • Sea Ice Prediction Network 2 (SIPN2)

As in previous years, the 2018 workshop will focus on:

  • Polar predictability from sub-seasonal to interannual timescales,
  • Sea ice prediction, and
  • Operational and research efforts.

Additionally, reviews for the Sea Ice Outlook project and other initiatives related to polar predictions will be discussed.

Operational forecasters and forecast users are invited to participate.

The call for abstracts will open in January 2018.
