The Arctic Data Center announces a request for proposals for synthesis working groups to begin by October 2018. Funding is available for one Working Group, consisting of hosting two meetings of approximately 15 participants each, over an anticipated 12- to 18-month period. Meetings will take place at the Arctic Data Center, operated out of the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (https://nceas.ucsb.edu) in Santa Barbara, California.
Proposals must focus on Arctic-related research issues, and primarily, but not necessarily exclusively, involve the analysis and synthesis of data contained within the Arctic Data Center Repository (https://arcticdata.io/catalog/). It is requested that all synthesis proposals explicitly address factors related to one or more human dimensions of the Arctic experience, in addition to earth and environmental aspects.
Proposals can have a maximum of 2,000 words and must be submitted electronically to proposals [at] arcticdata.io.
