Organizers invite participation at the inaugural meeting for the Physical Oceanography Self-Forming Team (POST), a new Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) collaboration team. This meeting will be held online on Thursday, 23 April 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. EDT.

One of several self-formed teams of IARPC Collaborations, the POST aims to engage the research community in collaborations focused on the physical oceanography (PO) of the Arctic. In addition, organizers aim to collaborate with other teams on cross-cutting themes and activities. Organizers believe that IARPC Collaborations can help to bridge gaps between different efforts within the Arctic Physical Oceanography science community, and help break barriers and stove pipes. Through monthly (virtual) meetings, organizers hope to facilitate discussions between funding agencies, researchers, and stakeholders. Team members are committed to making sure that the POST is useful for the community; in turn, they would like to see a strong engagement of the PO community in their activities, so that the team will have an impact on the longer-term direction of IARPC by contributing to its next Research Plan.

To join the meeting, participants must first request an account on IARPC Collaborations at https://www.iarpccollaborations.org/index.html. Once participants have an account, join the POST, and then will automatically receive an email when POST meetings get scheduled.
