Sea Ice Prediction Network (SIPN) team members invite contributions for the 2024 July Sea Ice Outlook (SIO) (based on May and June data).

The SIO provides an open process for those interested in Arctic sea ice to share ideas. Due to limited funding, the June–September SIO reports will be limited to the pan-Arctic forecasts while the team works to secure funding to support the continuation of the SIO. Please note that all the contributed data (e.g., Alaska, Antarctic and spatial forecasts) will be shared and discussed in a post-season report (in early 2025).

The team encourages all past contributors to submit Outlooks for 2024 and hopes to see new participants. Please feel free to distribute this announcement to others who might be interested in participating in the SIO.

Deadline for submissions: Monday, 15 July 2024, 6:00 p.m. AKDT (Firm)
