She has participated in four field campaigns on Arctic sea ice, including four months continuous duty on Ice Station SHEBA. Dr. Light played a leadership role in developing a freezer laboratory at the Polar Science Center (UW) and currently manages this facility. She has extensive experience working in cold room laboratories, including work with imaging systems, temperature control, and the preparation of samples for the assessment of microstructure and small scale morphology.
